When do I start ovulating after clomid? I started on my 3rd day and I still have 4 more days to take. When should I ovulate?

♥ replied: "14 days after your period started! good luck!"

stacie replied: "You should ovulate somewhere around cycle day 14 (14 days after the first day of your last period). Although this can vary by several days, and sometimes Clomid causes you to ovulate a little later in your cycle. You should probably start using OPK's at day 12 or so and go from there. I ovulated on CD 21 when I used Clomid."

? replied: "it takes 5 to 7 days after periods are over."

wishing and hoping and praying replied: "It depends on how long your cycle usually is. I ovulated on day 16 and took clomid on days 2-6. I started using opk on day 9! good luck!!!"

o0obby replied: "I think its recommended that you use OPK's when on clomid"

shollia replied: "I was told by an RN that if the clomid works then ovulation occurs usually about 5-9 days after the last pill is taken :)"

When do you start ovulating after you start taking Clomid 50 mg? I took my last clomid 50 mg pill Wednesday? When is the possibility I start ovulating? When should my husband and I start having intercourse and how often? Any help will be grateful.

IwannaBaby! replied: "If you're like me, you won't ovulate. I took Clomid at the beginning of this cycle (again!) and I'm now 12 weeks into my cycle! Go in and ask your doctor to do an ultrasound to determine whether you're ovulating, but start having intercourse now, because sperms can live inside you for a while. Do it every day for 5 days and then every second day for another 4. Should be well covered then, That's what I was told. Baby dust!"

Mommy to 1 and TTC #2 replied: "When I took it I ovulated about 10 days after my period ended. But I also used Answer Brand opk. Try using the opk and it you don't get positive result then contact your gyno by CD 21 to have blood work. Good luck and baby dust t you!"

karateJenn replied: "two things your dr should be monitering you to make sure your ovulating, and i would start having sex every day/ every other day from now until your sure youve ovulated. check if your ovulating by bbt (temping) or charting CM (egg white cervical mucus is fertile) orrrrrrr get the ovulation tests (like pregnancy tests) from anystore (even $1 tree)... good luck, clomid didn't work with me"

MurphysGirl replied: "I took my first round of clomid on Nov. 23 (I take it days 3-7). I ovulated 19 days later on Dec 9th. I waited and waited for it - it finally came, but the clomid made it later than usual. Be careful and try tracking it very closely .We were BD like crazy! We caught it, but dang... we were tired! Good Luck"

2 ?'s When should i be ovulating after clomid cd4-8 Is diarrhea a sign of ovulation? Might be a little TMI*? I was just wondering because Im on CD11 today and i woke up at 4am with mild diarrhea. I took clomid CD4-8 so I should be ovulation soon right? I thought maybe this is sign anyone else have this??

Juice Plus - U gotta Try It! replied: "its too soon for you to be ovulating. If you took it days 4-8, you will ovulate at the earliest on day 13 (very unlikely though) and usually before day 18. This cycle I took it on days 5-9 and am currently on day 14 =) Looks like we are on the same schedule. Good luck to you =) and no, that's not a sign of ovulation ;-)"

Is it normal to have terrible clomid symptoms after ovulating? I am at 6 days DPO and I have TERRIBLE nausea and abdominal cramping/bloating. My boobs are super sore and I am getting really exhasuted and winded with little things. I know these are common clomid symptoms, but has anyone else experienced them and how long to they last?? This is my first month on clomid...

Natasha S replied: "I was on Chlomid only one month (lucky!), and all mentioned above symptoms were while using it. Not after. Though, you sound very much as if you were lucky this month-- I keep my fingers crossed for you! Yes, nausea is a bit too early as a sign of pregnancy, but sore boobs, cramping and exhauting feeling--- that is what I felt much earlier than used the test and it gave positive. I wish you the best of luck and a lot of baby-dust."

Ashley H replied: "That's awfully early to be pregnancy symptoms. It could be PMS maybe."

TTC, why did we not conceive if I was ovulating after taking clomid? I used an OPK and it came back positive, so we did the deed a couple times, and still no prego. Just got AF six days after Ovulation. What went wrong?

Pippin replied: "For the same reason that women NOT on Clomid don't get pregnant every time they have sex. Even if everything is 'perfect' there is only about a 20-30% chance of becoming pregnant in any single cycle. (I would have to wonder about your very early period though. 6 days after ovulation is nowhere near long enough for an egg to be fertilized, travel down the tube and then implant.)"

divine intervention replied: "Honey, I'm on the same boat as you, except I was misdiagnosed for months before I was treated correctly. There are so many factors that must be accounted for when it comes to pregnancy. Hormone levels, stress, diet, weight, sex, glucose, etc...There's also a common disorder called PCOS in women of all shapes and sizes. It is often overlooked. This is why I highly recommend a thorough medical work up to rule out any of these things. It could be as simple as a blocked tube or as complicated as diabetes. I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes (even though I had no symptoms) and PCOS in February. It's was a double whammy but I finally had the answer to my infertility. I am currently on Metformin 2000 mg per day and 50 mg Clomid. I had a strong ovulation this month around the 16th but unfortunately, AF showed up on Sunday. I still haven't lost hope and I hope you won't either."

Dragonfly girl due 12.8.09 replied: "Are you sure it's AF? 6 dpo is a little too soon. It could be implantation bleeding. You can distinguish the two because Implantation will not be clotty and usually doesn't last any longer than a day or so. I had implantation bleeding at 7 dpo and didn't think anything of it at first. I just figured I was just spotting in the middle of the month and then 7 days after that got a BFP. Don't give up yet. Just remember that even if you do hit your days, there is only a 25% chance of conceiving. Just don't get discouraged."

Jr's mommy replied: "I'm at that point now...i have a beautiful 10mth old who i got my BFP after the first roumd of clomid(even my dr was surprised) Now we're trying again and i just took my second round of clomid and hoping for my BFP in a few days. Just dont stress too much thats bad for u too. Baby dust to u"

HONEYB1 replied: "Well, even for healthy couples it can take a year or so to conceive. You only have about a 25% chance of conception each cycle even with well timed intercourse. This is because the egg only lives 24 hours. However, sperm lives on average of 3 days so you want to keep a "fresh supply" at all times when you think you may be fertile. However, it sounds like Clomid may not be working for your if you got your AF just 6 days after ovulation. That is a very short amount of time. The time from ovulation until your next period is called your luteal phase. They like for it to be at least 12 days with 14+ being ideal. Anything less than 10 is considered a defect. An egg that is fertilized must travel down the tube and implant into the uterus before the lining starts to shed (which becomes your period). This is called implantation. Implantation occurs anywhere from 6-12 days after the egg is fertilized. So you can see how a short luteal phase can cause a major issue in not allowing enough time for the fertilized egg to implant. I am not sure if your doctor is monitoring you while on Clomid with ultrasounds and bloodwork but you may ask for this. It really helps to see what the issues are. Have you had tests done to make sure your tubes are open and your husbands sperm is ok? If not that is a good idea because you are wasting time taking Clomid if these are issues. So many doctors just prescribe Clomid without further testing. Just some suggestions. Best wishes and I know it is a frustrating process!"

ncute replied: "Its not necessary that u need ot get preg in the first try itself. I had 2 rounds of clomid before i got preg. So have patience nad check out whether its rellay period or implantation. Go to a doc and get checked out dear :) Good luck dear :)"

Could i be ovulating only 3 days after stopping the first round of clomid? I just started clomid 50mg (first round), i take them on days 5-9 so wednesday was my last day is it possible im ovulating only 3 days after the last pill? i have alot of mucasy discharge. im not used to ovulating. i have pcos so im afraid to buy more ovulation kits and get a neg. result. please help.

Jamie D replied: "I am on the same round days 5-9 50mg.So I'm not quite sure how it but the same happen to me.If you get any info contact me at"

Cheesy replied: "Absolutely. If it's 3 days after finishing your Clomid on CD 9, then it's now CD 12. Clomid works to stimulate your brain to produce the egg, hopefully more than one. It can easily cause your cycle to change. Good luck!"

Menses after ovulating with Clomid, only serious pls! Very upsetting situation.? I have completed my first round of Clomid. Got a positive OPK and the crampy feeling to go with it16 days ago but have not gotten my period. Has anyone had this happen? I was told that if you ovulate, you get a period although you can get a period without ovualting. After conceiving one child 6 years ago with no problem, this is beyond frustrating! I have no idea if any of this is even working, any clues anyone can pass on would be great! Yes, I am very much trying to get pregnant. I did 3 preganancy tests since the day I missed and the last being yesterday and they are all very negative unfortunately. I know I am not this late but even my doctor is surprised. (first it was day 22 when I got the positive OPK and now all this and no period) Thanks, I knew all the answers but was just frustrated I guess. My doc will me monitoring me this upcoming month. He said he has found that the first cycle can be very odd (I see that!) so he monitors cycles 2, 3, etc... After having my 5 year old without any problems, fertility issues, etc, this is all new to me. Thanks for your time!

szubuti replied: "I'm assuming you used clomid in an effort to get pregnant. Your period might be missing because you are in fact pregnant. Although your period might still come in a couple of days, you are not that late at this point. Take a pregnancy test to be sure, it should be long enough after your ovulation to be reliable. Edited: Please remember that the positive OPK -LH surge - means that you will ovulate sometime within the next 2 days. So in fact you are only 14 or maybe 15 days passed your ovulation. Also, it is possible that despite the surge you have not ovulated. Next time when you take clomid your doctor should monitor your ovaries with ultrasound to confirm ovulation. This is the only way to say whether you have ovulated or not for sure. As for now, if you will not get your period in the next couple of days, you should ask for an hCG blood test that can detect lower levels of the hormone than the urine tests."

How do they tell if your successfully ovulating on Clomid? When someone goes on Clomid, within how many monoths will they conceive? i heard they wont keep you on it for any longer than 6months, after that they take next steps?

usafwife replied: "Within 6 months is when most people get pregnant. Some people get pregnant on the first month..some take the whole 6 months. Of course, the average is 3 months. edit-- also, i am pretty sure your doctor will have you take a blood test to make sure you ovulated while on Clomid! My doctor told me to take two blood tests a month..one to see if I was ovulating, and the next to see if I was pregnant!"

what are the chances of ovulating on clomid? I didn't ovulate on 50mg (2-6) which I have done 2 cycles on, I didn't ovulate on 100mg (2-6) did one cycle on, now I am taking 100mg (3-7) and metformin 500mg twice a day, can I still ovulate on clomid on my 4th cycle even if I didn't ovulate on the first 3 cycles alone?

amosunknown replied: "yes, thats why they gave it to you again, with an extra drug to help."

alexis73102 replied: "Since your taking Met on top of it I'd say you have a pretty good chance. And if not you can move up to 150mg Clomid and 1500mg Met and have an even higher chance. I ovulated on Clomid (150mg) but didnt have a successful pregancy. I got pregnant with our daughter on 1500mg Met alone."

Keysfergy replied: "your chances are high even though you didn't ovulate on the 50mg or the 100mg, your dr probably think the 100mg would pull the trigger thats probably why your still on the 100mg, and the metformin is to help in aid the clomid, these to pills together would give you a better chance on conceiving"

ep replied: "Yes, you can still ovulate with a bigger dose. That is exactly what your body might need. Good luck!"
